Lead Generation (Scraping)
Starting scrape jobs, tracking job status, and the monthly places quota
The Lead Generation module starts scrape jobs that collect business data (name, address, phone, email, website, etc.) from Google Maps based on the search terms and location you provide. Jobs run in a background queue; when finished, the results land in the Data Pool. Usage draws from the monthly place quota of the workspace owner's plan.
Starting a scrape
- Open the Lead Generation page from the left menu. (As a member you need the
lead_genpermission; otherwise access is denied.) - Enter your search terms — e.g. "dental clinic", "cafe". You can use at most 5 search terms per job.
- Pick the location: country is required; optionally choose a state and city.
- Pick the language (the language results are returned in; required field).
- Set the results per term (between 1 and 6000; the form defaults to 5).
- Optionally apply a minimum star filter: all, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, or 4.5 stars and up.
- Optionally enable Leads Enrichment: for each business, 1-10 decision makers are found (from departments such as C-suite, marketing, sales). This feature is only available on the Pro and Team plans.
- Submit the form. The job is queued and you see a confirmation that the scrape job was added to the queue.
The total requested result count is the number of terms multiplied by results per term (e.g. 3 terms x 100 results = 300 place requests).
Job status
- Only one scrape job can run at a time. If you try to start a new job while one is in progress, you get an error saying a lead generation job is already running.
- While a job runs, a status indicator appears on the Lead Generation and Data Pool pages; when it finishes, the page refreshes automatically via a realtime notification and shows a "new data arrived" toast.
- Small searches finish within minutes; the larger the result count, the longer it takes.
Monthly places quota
- Every plan caps the number of places you can collect per month. On the Free plan the quota is 25 places per month; paid plan quotas vary by plan — see the /pricing page.
- Your current usage is shown above the form as "used / total and remaining".
- The quota draws from the workspace owner's plan regardless of which member is scraping. When a member with the
lead_genpermission starts a scrape, it still uses the owner's quota. - Once the quota is exhausted, new jobs cannot be started and a "monthly limit exceeded" error is returned; you need to upgrade your plan to continue.
If the number of results you request exceeds your remaining quota, the form warns you before submitting. Reduce the number of terms or the results per term to fit the request into your quota.
Mini scenarios
A marketer wants to reach restaurants in Istanbul: On the Lead Generation page they type "restaurant" as the search term, pick Turkey as the country and Istanbul as the city, set the language to Turkish, and request 100 results per term. The job is queued; a few minutes later they see the contact details of 100 restaurants in the Data Pool and promote the suitable ones to the CRM.
A Pro plan user wants to reach decision makers: While starting a scrape for Germany with the term "software company", they enable Leads Enrichment, request 5 people per business, and select "c_suite" and "marketing" as departments. The results include people records with LinkedIn profiles for each business; when those leads are promoted to the CRM, the people automatically become CRM contacts.
