Workspaces & Team
Creating and managing workspaces, inviting members, and managing permissions
A workspace is where all of your work in Connfig lives: the data pool, CRM records, campaigns, and team members are all kept per workspace. Every workspace has an owner; in workspaces you own you have access to all modules, while in workspaces you joined as a member your access is limited to the permissions you were given. Quotas (monthly places, seats, etc.) always draw from the workspace owner's plan.
Creating a workspace
- Go to the Workspaces page from the left menu and click New Workspace.
- Enter a name and save. You cannot create a second workspace with the same name (case-insensitive).
- If you have reached your plan limit, the app warns you and you cannot create a new workspace. The Free plan includes 1 workspace; see the /pricing page for paid plan limits.
From the same page you can rename an existing workspace or delete it. Deletion asks for confirmation.
Inviting members
- Open the workspace detail page and enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
- Only the workspace owner can invite members.
- If the invited person is already a Connfig user, they are added to the workspace immediately as an active member and receive an in-app notification.
- If they are not registered, a pending invite is created and an invite email with a registration link is sent. The invite link is valid for 7 days.
- A second invite cannot be sent to the same email, and someone who is already a member cannot be added again.
The seat limit is enforced against the workspace owner's plan. The owner counts as 1 seat and pending invites also count toward the quota; once the limit is full you cannot send new invites. Since the Free plan includes 1 seat, team members cannot be invited on the Free plan.
Roles and permissions
- Owner: The person who created the workspace; they have full access to all modules, add/remove members, and edit permissions.
- Member: A user who joined via invite. A newly added member only has the CRM permission by default; all other permissions start disabled.
Member permissions can be toggled per module:
| Permission | What it grants |
|---|---|
lead_gen | Starting scrapes from the Lead Generation page |
data_pool | Viewing and editing the Data Pool |
crm | Working on CRM records |
view_all_crms | Seeing all CRM records instead of only assigned ones |
campaigns | Access to the campaigns module |
can_send_mail | Being able to send campaign emails |
reports | Access to reports |
A member without a given permission sees an "access denied" screen when opening that page. The owner can remove members from the workspace; a member cannot change their own role.
Mini scenarios
An agency owner wants a separate space for each client: On a paid plan they create two workspaces named "Client A" and "Client B". Each client's lead data and CRM stay isolated in their own workspace; they switch between them with the workspace picker in the top menu.
A sales manager wants to give the team CRM access but no scraping rights: They invite the sales rep by email. Since the rep arrives with only the CRM permission by default, no extra setup is needed; if the rep tries to open the Lead Generation page, access is denied. Later, the manager also enables the reports permission from the member settings if needed.
